Biography

Aaron Marshall is an Associate Professor at the Biomolecular Interaction Centre at the University of Canterbury.

Research interests

Aaron's research is based around electrochemical energy technologies. This includes the development of materials for large scale batteries, hydrogen generation, and the electrochemical conversion of CO2 into fuels. Typically, the goal of his research is to enhance the rate of the relevant electrochemical reactions used in these technologies by developing electrode materials with high catalytic performance.

The challenge is to find a material which absorbs sunlight and catalyses the charging reaction inside the battery.
