Biography

Kadin is a lecturer of physics at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. His role focusses mostly on teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels alongside co-supervising MSc and PhD research students. Kadin did all of his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Te Herenga Waka. Between earning his PhD in 2023 and starting his lecturer role in 2025, Kadin worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the MacDiarmid Institute.

Research interests

Kadin’s research is in theoretical condensed matter physics, with a particular focus on unconventional superfluidity. Materials exhibiting topological or odd-frequency superfluidity may eventually form the basis of exciting new technology.

My daily work revolves around inspiring, developing and enabling the next generation of scientists and researchers in Aotearoa. That means holding real space for students and rebuilding our default ways of teaching so that they work for everyone.
