Revolution Fibres Ltd is a world leading nanofibre production company based in Auckland developing products for air filtration, skincare, acoustics, composites and much more. It’s where MacDiarmid Institute alumni Dr Bhuvana Kannan works as Research & Innovation Manager.
Dr Bhuvana studied chemistry on a MacDiarmid PhD under MacDiarmid PIs and Professors Jadranka Travas Sejdic and David Williams at the University of Auckland, graduating in 2012. She then joined Technix industries Ltd, New Plymouth as a Project Leader, and with Technix support, completed a Diploma in Plastics & Engineering from University of Auckland.
In 2013, she joined Revolution Fibres Ltd as Research & Development Chemist, and with the support of Revolution Fibres, completed her Postgraduate diploma in Commercialization and Entrepreneurship at the University of Auckland Business school.
Dr Kannan is currently involved in innovation management and leading projects with diverse end applications like cosmetics, skin scaffolding, textiles, batteries and filtration, working with international clients, supervising PhD students and writing patents, reviews and book chapters.
