Dr Jackson Miller

Jackson Miller received his PhD (Physics) from Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington, New Zealand, in 2022. He was a postdoctoral research fellow also at Victoria University of Wellington from 2022-2023, working in the spintronics group, studying the magnetism of rare-earth nitrides. He is now a Scientist at Victoria University of Wellington’s Robinson Research Institute where he is pursuing the integration of the same rare-earth nitride materials in various low-temperature electronics technologies.

Dr Talia Xu

Talia Xu completed her PhD at Delft University of Technology in 2024, where her research focused on low-power wireless communication using ambient light. She is now a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, where she has held an academic position since July 2024.

Board farewells former Director Professor Richard Blaikie

Last week we farewelled from our Governance Board former Director Professor Richard Blaikie, who stays on as an Emeritus Investigator with the Institute. ‘This research, and its immediate relevance to the manufacture of precise nanostructures in the electronics industry, is an important precursor to the Institute’s current Future Computing research programme.’
